What is Two-Wheeler Insurance (Bike Insurance)

Bike insurance, also called as two wheeler insurance policy in India, is a policy that protects you from financial loss if your bike is damaged by fire or natural disasters, or if it is stolen. Even if someone’s else’s property is damaged because of your bike, or if they are hurt, your policy covers the cost.

Who Should Buy a Two-Wheeler Insurance Policy?

Every customer who purchases a scooter / bike needs to have minimum third party two-wheeler insurance. The Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 says that it is compulsory for every two wheeler owner to have bike insurance in India. Don’t have a policy? Be careful, this invites a heavy penalty! You need to have at least a third party two-wheeler insurance policy so that any loss to another person – resulting from injuries, damage to property, death – is covered, and doesn’t have to be paid from your pocket.

Why Buy Zuno Bike Insurance?

Hey, we know you already know the answer to this one – riding a bike is fun, but it comes with its share of risks! An accident can of course injure someone or worse, but it can also cause a big financial loss. How can you protect yourself against such a loss? Buying a bike insurance online is a great way to start. Here are some great reasons to get covered: It’s compulsory as per the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. For new bikes, 5-year third-party cover is required (Supreme Court order, 2018). Penalty for no insurance is ₹2,000 for first offence, ₹4,000 for repeat. A Two-wheeler insurance policy covers you against theft and damage to your bike due to accidents and natural or manmade disasters. In addition, it also pays compensation for loss or damage to another person (injury or death) or property. Personal accident cover for the owner and co-passengers is also available to ensure you have all-round protection

NCB (No Claim Bonus)

That’s what they call the discount you get on your renewal premium, if you haven’t claimed in the past year. For the first claim-free year, you can get a 20% discount. It can go up to 50% if you don’t claim for 5 years in a row.

How Long Does Zuno Bike Insurance Coverage Last?

Typically, your bike insurance policy will be valid for one year. However, there are cases in which you can purchase insurance for up to 3 years at a time. You’ll need to check your policy to understand when it expires.

Are there any Situations Where Zuno Bike Insurance Doesn’t Apply?

This will largely depend on the kind of policy and add-ons you’ve selected. Generally, your bike insurance policy will not cover situations in which the two-wheeler is being used illegally, or for damages caused by war, war-like situations, or wear and tear of various parts. To find out if there’s anything we won’t cover, you can check your Policy Schedule.

Can I Transfer My NCB to Zuno Bike Insurance?

Absolutely! We’re happy to have you on board, and as long as you renew your bike insurance policy in the 90 days before it expires, you’ll continue receiving the NCB.

How do I know if my preferred garage is a cashless one?

How Is My Bike Insurance Premium Calculated?

Your bike insurance premium depends on factors such as your bike’s Insured Declared Value (IDV), the type of policy you select, any add-on covers, and your registration location.
Opting for only the coverage you need and maintaining your bike well ensures you pay a fair, personalized premium.

What Is the No Claim Bonus (NCB) and How Can I Benefit from It?

The No Claim Bonus (NCB) is a discount you earn for not making any claims during a policy year. Each claim-free year increases your NCB, helping you save more on your renewal premium.
Ride safely and avoid claims to maximize your benefits.

Can I Renew My Bike Insurance Online?

Yes, Zuno allows you to renew your bike insurance policy online in just a few steps. Simply enter your bike details, review your policy, and make a secure payment.
The process is quick, paperless, and gives you instant coverage.

How Does Comprehensive Bike Insurance Differ from Third-Party Insurance?

Comprehensive bike insurance covers your own bike against accidents, theft, fire, and natural disasters, in addition to third-party liabilities.
Third-party insurance, which is legally mandatory, only covers damages or injuries to others and not your own bike.
Comprehensive insurance offers broader and more complete protection.
